These are the true backbone of our parent army. Whether you are a seasoned pro, or just a baseball novice there is always a need for fun, energetic coaches who love spending time on the field with our kids.
Many times referred to as the "team mom", every team needs someone to help organize all of the non-baseball related activities such as snacks and end of season parties. If you are interested in taking on this role, talk to your child's coach at the first practice.
RCLL uses an app called GameChanger Team Manager to score all the games and keep statistics for the coaches and players. Given the difficulty of this role, these volunteers are always in high demand. You need to be well versed in the game of baseball and also be a bit of a "techy" person. You also need to own a phone or tablet that runs the Android (Google) or iOS (Apple) operating system.
These people help take some of the monotony out of a long baseball game. Both our fields have audio systems and we need people willing to play music in-between innings. Also, if you are up to it, announcing the players is great fun and the kids absolutely love it as it makes them feel like one of the big leaguers. It's really easy to do and training is available.
